Did you have a chance or take the time to "thank a veteran" today?

I had noticed many times the DV on a license plate parked at a store I stop at in the mornings. I didn't think about when I stopped this morning, At first I got what I needed went back out to my car, then noticed I had parked right next to his car. And older model from the 80's clean inside and out. I walked around to check his tag, and sure enough it was the same DV plate I'd seen before. I Walked back in and noticed this little old man sitting in the coffee shop by his self and knew that must be him, I walked up and asked him was that his car with the Disabled Veteran tag, he said yes, And I told him, I just wanted to say thank you for your service to our country. I noticed a very small Marine lapel pin on his heavy jacked. I told him some of my family had served and he said he had been in Korea, and thanked me for just saying thank you. For a moment it seemed like he was about to have tears in his tired eyes. As I got back in my car and drove away, I know I had them in mine. Take the time, if you've not had a chance, it can sure make someones day.
