Should I stop wearing my doc martens?

I have big feet, and i went to a shoe store without trying size 8 on. I believed that they wouldn't fit me seeing as im a size 9 in army boots and many of my flat shoes these days. When i first got them they kept slipping off slightly, but i have now broken into them so they fit almost perfectly. The most fashionable girls at my school wear them, so i thought i had nothing to be embarrassed about, but my friends keep pointing fingers and making fun out of my huge feet. I'm already quite chubby and i'm starting to think maybe they don't suit me but i live in them and I think they're ok...... would you carry on wearing them?
